Netherlands to extradite suspected terrorist attack plotter to France

A man arrested on suspicion of terrorist activity in the Netherlands can be extradited to France, following a ruling by a court in Amsterdam Thursday.

A Dutch anti-terrorism squad arrested the man at France's request in March in his flat in Rotterdam, where they found 45 kilograms of ammunition.

French authorities suspect he had been planning a terrorist attack. Further details of the plot were not available.

Court officials said he is to be handed over to the French authorities in the next few days.

The suspect had appealed his extradition on the grounds that he faces lifelong imprisonment and inhumane treatment in France, but the court ruled against him.
