Merkel pushes for "speedy completion" of TTIP despite leak

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is pushing for the "speedy completion" of negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) despite a leak that has cast doubt on the deal between the European Union and the United States.

Her spokesman Steffen Seibert says the leaked documents do not reflect the final outcome of the TTIP negotiations, adding that Germany will not accept a deal that weakens climate and consumer protections.
