Merkel to bring up Turkish immunity vote in talks with Erdogan

German Chancellor Angela Merkel plans to bring up a move to strip scores of Turkish legislators of their legal immunity when she meets with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan next week, her spokesman says.

The two are expected to meet Monday, on the sidelines of the UN World Humanitarian Summit.

"The increasing polarization of domestic politics in Turkey is generally filling us with worry," said spokesman Steffen Seibert, noting that domestic stability in Turkey requires all groups in society have representation there.
