JK Rowling: Scotland will seek independence after Brexit vote

Scotland will seek independence following Britain's apparent vote to leave the European Union, says Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

"Scotland will seek independence now," Rowling said on Twitter.

"[Prime Minister David] Cameron's legacy will be breaking up two unions," she wrote. "Neither needed to happen."

Scottish voters opted to remain in the EU by a large margin, but a slim majority of overall voters opted for a Brexit, or British EU exit, in the national count.
