Hollande: France will not be deterred by terrorist threats in video

France will not be intimidated by terrorist threats, President Francois Hollande said Monday, vowing to strike Islamic State "time and again" after a video circulated online reportedly showed militants training before recent attacks on Paris.

"ISIS are proud of those who committed these atrocities," Hollande said during a diplomatic visit to Delhi. "They are provoking us in the worst possible manner. But these can only make us more determined."

Hollande made the comments after a propaganda video purported to show the nine Islamist militants who carried terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13 doing training and carrying out beheadings in Islamic State territory.

The video could not be independently verified.

"We shall also be extremely determined to strike time and again against ISIS, that organization which is threatening us and killing our children," Hollande said in remarks via a French interpreter.

Hollande responded to questions about the video, which replays footage of the Paris attacks that left 130 people dead and promises further strikes against countries taking part in the air campaign against the group in Iraq and Syria.

"France will not be deterred by any kind of threats of terrorism," Hollande said, adding that the country would continue under a state of emergency that has granted expanded judicial and police power.

"We will take all measures that are required to protect democracy," Hollande said. "We will always protect the values for which France stands."
