A Syrian migrant who blew himself up outside a music festival venue in Germany, injuring 12 people, had been due for deportation to Bulgaria, an Interior Ministry spokesman says.
The attacker came to Germany two years ago and was denied asylum last year.
The suicide attack, perpetrated late Sunday in Ansbach, was "very likely" an act of Islamist terrorism, Bavaria's top security official Joachim Hermann said earlier Monday.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which saw the 27-year-old suspect detonate a cluster bomb he was carrying inside a rucksack after being denied entry to the venue.
