France issues new European arrest warrant against Abdeslam

French judicial authorities are issuing a new European arrest warrant against Salah Abdeslam, according to a statement from the French Justice Ministry.

"It aims to complement the one that was issued in November 2015 after the attacks in Paris to cover all charges against him," Justice Minister Jean-Jacques Urvoas says.

According to the statement, the issuing of this new warrant replaces the extradition procedure between member states of the European Union.
