A disabled Tunisian man and his two children were verbally abused and beaten by thugs in a New Year's Eve attack in the east of Germany, where the family has applied for asylum.
Two men and one women are thought to have hurled racist slurs at the man, who uses a walker for support, and his son and daughter, police in the city of Chemnitz said on Wednesday.
The attackers then beat the father to the ground and kicked the girl before fleeing the scene at a bus stop, police said.
The victims called the emergency services after the attack and were taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the attack in ongoing, although a language barrier has hindered progress, a police spokeswoman said. Officers were first able to question the family four days after the incident.
