EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini condemns North Korea's alleged hydrogen bomb test as a "grave violation" of the country's nuclear obligations, and calls it a "threat to the peace and security" of North East Asia.
Mogherini calls on North Korea to "re-engage in a credible and meaningful dialogue with the international community ... and to cease this illegal and dangerous behaviour."
The issue will be addressed in an urgent UN Security Council meeting later Wednesday, the European Union's top diplomat says, adding that she will also hold talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung Se and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.
