Belgium releases Brussels terrorist suspect Faycal C

Belgian authorities have released a man charged earlier this week with terrorist murder in connection with the Brussels attacks, due to a lack of evidence to back up the allegations against him, the prosecution says.

"The clues that had led to the arrest of [the person] named Faycal C were not backed up by the progression of the ongoing investigation," the federal prosecution has said in a statement.

Belgian media had initially reported that Faycal C was the third attacker at the Brussels airport.
