Several thousand migrants enter Slovenia last night, gov't searching for location for new reception centre

According to Slovenian Police, several thousand migrants and refugees arriving from Croatia entered Slovenia through the so-called green border in the night between Thursday and Friday and were sent to the reception centres in Brezice and Dobova.

Currently there are 2,000 migrants staying in each reception centre and the government is searching for possible locations for a new transit centre.

Another reception centre was opened in Jasenice while the transport of migrants towards the Slovenia-Austria border crossing of Sentilj has continued.

Transport towards the north is mostly conducted by trains. The government announced it was searching for locations for a new transit centre which would be able to receive 3,000 people. The main transit centre in Sentilj can accommodate up to 2,000 but this morning approximately 4,000 were staying there.
