Kosovo films to be shown in Zagreb and Porec

The first festival of Kosovo films will take place in Zagreb and in the coastal city of Porec on 23-24 February, the organiser of the event

On 23 February, the films "Babai" by director Visar Morina and "Kukumi" by director Isa Qosja  will be screened in the Cinestar cinema in Zagreb's Branimir Centre.

"Babai" is about ten-year-old Nori and his father Gezim who roam the streets of Kosovo selling cigarettes, barely earning a living. Only a few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Gezim went to Germany, leaving his son behind in search of a new life. Feeling deserted and desperate to claim some sense of stability, Nori embarks on a dangerous journey to Germany in search of his father.

"Kukumi" is a dark comedy about Mara and Hasan who left a mental hospital after the end of the war in Kosovo. Unsure of what to do next, they set off across the post-war Kosovo and journey to Hasan's brother's village. However, they are not welcomed by the residents, and choose instead to set themselves up in an abandoned building.

On 24 February, the films, that will be subtitled in English, will be shown in Porec.
