The High Sun wins three awards at Cottbus film festival

The High Sun, a film by director-screenwriter Dalibor Matanic won three awards at the Festival of East European Cinema in Cottbus, Germany, held on November 3-8, while Ungiven, a film by Branko Schmidt, won the ecumenical jury award, the Croatian Audio-Visual Centre (HAVC) has reported.

The High Sun won a 25,000 euro prize as the best film in the competition programme, Tihana Lazovic, who plays a role in the film, won the best actress award, and the film also won an award of the FIPRESCI international film critics association.

Since its world premiere at the film festival in Cannes, where it won the jury award in the Un Certain Regard programme, The High Sun has won 15 awards at various film festivals.
