What do people in Croatia think about Donald Trump?

It's not a secret that American billionaire, investor and businessman Donald Trump is the biggest surprise and a star of the 2016 presidential election so far. He is controversial, shocking and that's  what Americans love this year,  apparently. But how do people in Croatia feel about Trump?

We asked a few Croats what do they think about Trump's success and what do they think how will his politics affect Croatia.

Some people said that they didn't care much about him. They believe Trump is becoming president will not affect far away Croatia.

Other's think Trump speaks what everybody thinks but they are too afraid to say it aloud. They agree that he wouldn't enjoy so much of popularity in Europe because he is the image of what America projects -  easy money and spectacle.

One of the students whom we asked for an opinion said: „It's very scary that this kind of man enjoys such power and what scares me even more is that he could be the next president of the United States. He is unscrupulous. He could use some psychiatric help.“

It's not so strange that young educated people are scared of Trumps politics. His racist politics is everything that Europeans do not want to be defined by.
He is against immigrants in the time when refugee crisis is shaking Europe and people are afraid of another terrorist attack in Europe.

Europe is trying to be liberal and hoping to find a more balanced way to handle this crisis.

„He is just a populist fool“  is a common comment we get from younger people in Croatia.

They hope that this his triumph will not affect Croats in any way, but also realize he can seduce big crowds. That kind of people is known to cause big changes and provoke conflicts throughout history...
