Unemployment in Feb falls to 17.8 pct

The registered unemployment rate in Croatia fell to 17.8 percent in February, down 0.1 percentage points on the month and 1.8 pp on the year, the national statistical office said on Wednesday.

This was the first unemployment decrease after five months of increase and was as expected as Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) data showed earlier that the number of the jobless in February fell 1.3% on the month to 289,400.

HZZ figures show that unemployment has continued to decrease this month, with 280,000 jobless registered today, neatly 10,500 fewer than at the end of February.
