Trade between Croatia and Slovenia record high

Trade in goods and services between Slovenia and Croatia exceeded 3.2 billion euros in 2015, according to figures from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, and the strengthening of business cooperation between the two neighbours is also seen in growing Croatian investments in Slovenia, the Ljubljana-based "Delo" daily has reported.

Croatia is our fourth biggest trading partner, the chamber's coordinator for international business, Matej Rogelj told Delo.

The trend of increasing trade in goods and services has been steady for years, and was not interrupted by the world economic crisis.

The trend was also facilitated by Croatia's admission to the European Union in 2013, while Slovenia has been the Union's member since 2004.

Slovenia's investments in Croatia doubled from EUR 670 million in 2004 to EUR 1.2 billion in 2010.

In recent years Croatia's investments have been on the rise due to acquisitions of Slovenian companies by Croatian Agrokor, Atlantic Grupa, Podravka etc.

Slovenia’s main trading partners are Germany, Italy and Austria.
