Sustar calls on Jokic and his team to return and complete work on curriculum reform

Science, Education and Sport Minister Predrag Sustar on Friday called on the head of the task force for comprehensive curriculum reform, Boris Jokic, and his team to return and complete their work on the reform.

Speaking at a press conference, Sustar called on Jokic to reconsider his decision to resign, adding that the curriculum reform would continue regardless.

"The curriculum reform is continuing. It will not be changed by pressure from either side," the minister said, stressing that he was taking responsibility for his own work.

He criticised the task force for failure to achieve some of the targets within the set time frame, which was why a public debate on the proposed reform, which was to have started on May 10, was delayed.

Jokic and his team resigned on Wednesday, citing political pressure, particularly from a small political party, a member of the ruling coalition.
