Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Zoran Milanovic in Zagreb on Saturday expressed confidence in the victory of the SDP-led coalition in the early parliamentary election set for 11 September.
"Eight months have passed since the last election. Much damage has not been done," Milanovic said, alluding to the outgoing government led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Bridge party.
"Give us a chance to govern the country in the next four years, after we had brought it to a better state," Milanovic said.
Asked by reporters about a possibility of the SDP making a post-election coalition with the Bridge party, he said that he had not made any comment on Bridge and its leader Bozo Petrov in the past eight months and he would again refuse to comment on them.
"I won't comment on Bridge. I neither assault nor criticise them for months. This is not because of me ignoring them but because of the fact that they had opted for the HDZ (after the last parliamentary poll). Croatia has sweated through eight months. This has not been good. Let us change it."
