Pula gets its first shopping mall

A 13,000 square metre shopping mall, the Pula City Mall, was opened in that Istrian city on Wednesday evening.

The mall, the first of the kind to be opened in Pula, is an investment by the Austrian MID Group worth around 20 million euros.

The investor and owner of the Pula City Mall is a Croatian developer that is part of the MID Group.

Neven Maric of the MID Group said the mall would employ 200 people.

The region of Istria has few shopping malls and its population has a high purchasing power, which is why the group plans to expand its operations in Istria County, said Maric.
