President receives reps. of Protestant communities

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Thursday received representatives of Protestant religious communities, wishing all Protestant Christians a happy Reformation Day, her office said.

The president said Reformation Day observed a tradition that was deeply rooted in the cultural and spiritual heritage of a large part of Europe and that was present in Croatia virtually from the start.

"I'm always underlining the importance of respecting religious tradition and tolerance of others, tolerance which isn't just passively standing others and those who are different, but active cooperation for the common good," she said, adding that a wish to get to know one another, to accept common values and respect diversity were the prerequisites of respect and tolerance.

Grabar-Kitarovic thanked the representatives of the Protestant religious communities for their work for the benefit of the faithful and the entire society.
