PM wishes his successor to be brave

After voting in Sunday's early parliamentary election, Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic said his successor should be brave.

"A lot was promised in the campaign but, in the end, you need to be brave to carry out reforms and tough decisions. Without tough decisions, there will be no long term results, so I hope we will see that courage as soon as possible," he told reporters in Zagreb.

He hoped that more citizens would go to the polls than at last November's election and that the new government would be formed as soon as possible. "When we look at the macroeconomic indicators, I think the year will be very good for Croatia but, without reforms, we won't be successful in the long term."

Oreskovic wished for a successful government which would last longer than his. "Tomorrow is a new day," he said.
