PM Oreskovic issues message for International Workers' Day

Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic on Saturday offered his best wishes to Croatian citizens on the occasion of International Workers' Day, May 1, saying that by launching reforms and investments and by creating a better business climate the government wanted to step up economic growth while simultaneously building a more equitable welfare state that protects the most vulnerable social groups.

"The Government's priority is to improve the economic situation in the country and we are working on it every day. By launching reforms and investments and by creating a better business climate we want to step up economic growth while simultaneously building a more equitable welfare state that protects the most vulnerable social groups," Oreskovic stressed in his message.

"In doing so, we want to have an open and constructive dialogue with the social partners because only together can we implement the key reforms required for the prosperity of our homeland. The reforms will lay foundations for long-term sustainable growth that leads to new jobs, higher salaries, better living standards and eventually life in dignity for all Croatians workers," the PM said in the message.
