Plenkovic says will reveal names of ministers next week

The Prime Minister designate and Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader, Andrej Plenkovic, said on Thursday that the names of new ministers would not be discussed at today's sessions of the party Presidency and the Main Committee, adding that the names of the new ministers would be revealed next week and that they would be the people of his choosing.

"We still got time, today we are focusing on other topics. The inaugural session of parliament is tomorrow and next week we shall have the names of the ministers in the new government," Plenkovic told reporters outside the HDZ headquarters.

Asked if he could confirmed that HDZ political secretary Davor Stier would be the new foreign minister Plenkovic said: "I told you I would reveal all the names together. That information did not come from me and once my government is completed, you will be notified."

Asked if he was pressured by criticism regarding a possible candidate for the position of culture minister, Nina Obuljen Korzinek, Plenkovic said he did not feel any pressure from anyone, underscoring that he would choose his own ministers.

HDZ secretary general Gordan Jandrokovic also confirmed that the candidates of the new ministers would not be discussed today but that the sessions would focus on the constituting session of parliament.
