Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Andrej Plenkovic said on Thursday that the party had adopted its election platform and strategy by consensus.
Speaking to the press after a session of the Main Committee, he did not say when the HDZ would submit its lists of candidates, only that they would be agreed at a National Council session later in the day.
HDZ member Tomislav Coric told reporters tonight that the party would submit the slates to the State Election Commission on Saturday, when it would also present its platform.
Member Ivana Maletic said the party's demographic policy measures would cost about HRK 1 billion. It's a set of measures which will follow economic growth and development, she added.
"We will have higher growth rates, which will create trust in the Croatian economy and the credit rating will automatically be upgraded. Interest rates on the public debt will be lower, resulting in savings of HRK 3 billion. The goal is to generate economic growth and improve living standards as well as help citizens on welfare," Maletic said, adding that Croatia would absorb HRK 10 billion annually for development projects.
