Bridge party president Bozo Petrov said on Sunday that he would like to take part in a TV debate with Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Andrej Plenkovic and Social Democratic Party (SDP) president Zoran Milanovic, and announced that his party would soon decide whether he would run against them in Constituency I.
Asked by reporters in Sinj what Bridge based its wish that he should be the next prime minister, Petrov said, "Based on what we did in the past seven months, based on the effort, work and will we are willing to invest for Croatian citizens and based on the fact that we are the only ones ready to make changes."
Petrov said that Bridge, as the "third option", was not in danger and that it was the only party that proved "what it can do and that it's a dam against the HDZ and the SDP and how they ran the state over the past 20 years."
Asked about coalitions, he said this matter was an agony for all three parties. "I can promise that neither the HDZ nor the SDP will be in power and if they will want to rule as they did over the past 20 years... we won't let them." He denied that Bridge was "closer to the HDZ."
As for media speculation about a big HDZ-SDP coalition, Petrov said, "Neither Plenkovic nor Milanovic denied that, which says a lot."
