Petrov: Bridge won't take part in any gov't reshuffle

Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Bridge party Bozo Petrov said on Wednesday that Bridge would not take part in any government reshuffle and would rather opt for an early election.

"If Mr (Tomislav) Karamarko (First Deputy Prime Minister and HDZ leader) decides to topple the government, Bridge will not take part in any reshuffle and will opt for an election. Bridge's position has been the same from the start. We really call on all members of the executive authorities to demonstrate political responsibility and hope that in the short period of time that we have ahead of us it will transpire that we all care about saving the government and justifying the confidence voters have given us," Petrov told reporters outside the government headquarters.

Bridge sincerely regrets the current situation, he said. "I hope the other side too will show reason and responsibility," said Petrov, surrounded by government ministers and members of Parliament from the Bridge quota.

Petrov declined to answer if Bridge would support the dissolution of the parliament, and after giving his brief statement returned to the government headquarters.
