Parliament speaker issues message for International Workers' Day

Parliament Speaker Zeljko Reiner on Sunday extended his best wishes to all citizens of Croatia on the occasion of International Workers' Day.

"This day we paid tribute to the large-scale labour protests held in Chicago in 1886 when 40,000 workers took it to streets, demanding an eight-hour work day. On that day, several workers were killed in a clash with the police and eight were sentenced to death," Reiner said in his message.

He once again offered his best wishes to all Croatian citizens on the occasion of International Workers' Day.
