Parliament appoints Sinisa Kovacic as HRT acting director-general

The Croatian parliament on Friday relieved Goran Radman of his duties as director-general of the HRT public broadcasting service and appointed HRT editor Sinisa Kovacic acting director-general.

The decisions were made by a majority of votes. Radman was dismissed with 78 votes in favour, four against and 29 abstentions, while Kovacic received 79 votes in favour, 15 against and 18 abstentions.

The procedure for Radman's dismissal had been initiated by the HRT Supervisory Board, saying that the HRT had violated the law by not keeping separate accounts for public and commercial revenues.
