Number of employed people in Croatia in February down 0.8%

The total number of employed people in Croatia decreased in February 2016 for the seventh month in a row, by 0.8% to HRK 1.3 million, the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) said on Thursday.

At the end of February, 1,336,075 people were employed, which was 0.8% or 10,822 less than in January. The number of employees has been on the decline since August 2015.

Data from the National Employment Office (HZZ) shows that 289,429 job-seekers were registered with the HZZ at the end of February, down by 1.3% or 3,807 persons from January. The registered unemployment rate fell from 17.9% in January to 17.8% in February.
