New political party Free Croatia formed

A new political party, Free Croatia, founded by disgruntled members of the Human Barrier parliamentary party, held its founding assembly on Saturday.

Spokeswoman Tajana Pavlovic told Hina that 140 active members left Human Barrier because of "the totally undemocratic and authoritarian running of the party." She said Free Croatia would retain the former party's activism but that it would be much more thorough and serious.

Free Croatia said in a press release that it was a political-activist party which would base its work on humanism and that its goal would be the creation of a more equitable, socially sensitive and economically sustainable society.

Drazan Dizdar, Damir Trnacic and  Antonio Drazovic were elected co-presidents.
