The city of Vienna has opened a new office for international communication, called Eurocomm-PR, which will perform public relations services for Vienna Holding in Zagreb, Belgrade, Budapest, Krakow, Ljubljana, Prague, Sarajevo and Sofia.
The new office of the city of Vienna in Zagreb is located in the BCI building in Zagreb's Miramarska Street and since the start of this year it has been operating as part of Vienna Holding (Wien Holding).
The mission of the office is to enhance Vienna's visibility as an important European centre, encourage the exchange of experience between cities and present Vienna on target markets. The EU must grow from today's economic and monetary union into a social and environmentally aware union, meaning that cities and municipalities must be given the possibility of self-government in the area of public services, Marcin Kotlowski and Markus Poellhuber of Vienna Holding said.
Poellhuber said that Eurocomm-PR provided employees of the Vienna city administration and participants in international delegations with detailed and comprehensive information on the political organisation, administration, economy and media in target cities, presenting twice a week selected news topics from Belgrade, Budapest, Krakow, Ljubljana, Prague, Sarajevo, Sofia and Zagreb that are of interest to the local media.
The office also makes specialised surveys which offer employees of the Vienna city administration information on regulations and methods of work of other city administrations in central and southeast Europe and follows tenders published in target countries, which are then forwarded to ANKO, a Vienna-based register of contractors which publishes them.
