A four-star hotel will be opened in the new Academia centre in Tkalciceva Street in Zagreb in early November, and the Exportdrvo Projekti (ExD) company has invested 80 million kuna (approximately 10.5 million euros) in the 17,500-square-metre-large centre.

The three-storey Hotel Academia will have 53 two-bed rooms and two suites plus other amenities to cater for a 250 guests.

The centre also includes an underground two-storey garage with 170 park spaces.

The investor boasts that "Hotel Academia is located in the central business district of Zagreb in the pedestrian zone in Tkalciceva" which is described on the web stie of the investor as "one of the most attractive streets in the Croatian capital, lined with cafes and restaurants that are opened until the late hours of the night and located just a few hundred metres from Zagreb's main square."

The ExD company director, Ivica Prevolsek, told Hina that this would be the first new hotel in the centre of Zagreb after some time.

He said that about 50 people would be employed in the hotel.
