MOST to resume talks with SDP, HDZ on Tuesday

The Bridge party (MOST) consisting of independent slates, which emerged third in the Croatian parliamentary election on 8 November, has scheduled meetings with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) for Tuesday morning with judiciary and entrepreneurship being on the agenda.

The HDZ and its Patriotic Coalition won 59 seats in the 151-seat parliament, while the SDP and its partners in the Croatia is Growing coalition won 56 seats, according to the State Election Commission's provisional reports. In the parliamentary elections on November 8, Bridge won 19 seats and without it neither the SDP-led coalition nor the HDZ-led coalition can form a parliamentary majority.

Bridge representatives have said that this party will insist on the implementation of reforms as a condition for its support to the future government.

Both the SDP and the HDZ leaders have expressed confidence that they are optimistic and that they are satisfied with the resumption of the negotiations with Bridge.

Last week, Bridge leader Bozo Petrov presented a proposal for forming a government of national unity.
