Moderate tremor recorded near Brezice

A quake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was recorded shortly before 9 am Sunday near Brezice, an eastern Slovenian town at the border with Croatia, Croatia's seismological service reported.

The quake's epicentre was located seven kilometres south-west of Brezice and its intensity at the epicentre was V-VI of the Mercalli–Cancani–Sieberg (MCS) scale. The tremor was felt in a wider Zagreb area, the Croatian seismological service stated. No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.

Also on Sunday morning, a strong quake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit a wider area of the Albanian capital of Tirana. That tremor was felt in Montenegro and Macedonia, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
