Ministry to invite applications for Hina Steering Council's members

The outgoing cabinet of Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic on Wednesday adopted a draft of tender inviting applications for four positions of the five-member Steering Council of Croatia's news agency Hina.

The government instructed the culture ministry to publish the invitation for the nomination of members of the Steering Council, to collect applications and forward them to the government for the further procedure in parliament regarding the appointment of those members to the Council.

Hina's five-member Steering Council includes a law expert, a media expert, a finance expert, an information technology expert and a member representing Hina employees. Members are appointed to the Steering Council by the Croatian Parliament on the basis of a public competition.

Culture Minister Zlatko Hasanbegovic said today that the term of the current representative of Hina employees sitting on the council expired on 12 October, and the terms of another three members expired on 19 October.
