Social Democratic Party (SDP) president Zoran Milanovic said on Sunday, after voting in the early parliamentary election, that he was awaiting the results more relaxed than ever before.
"We have done everything, we have shown that we are competent, hearty. The rest is up to the people," he told reporters.
He recalled the terrorist attacks in the US 15 years ago today, saying he was in Washington at the time, only a couple of hundred metres from the Pentagon, which was struck by a plane.
Reporters asked him if he would be responsible if the results of the SDP-led People's Coalition fell short of expectations. "I'm always responsible for everything. When we win, we win cleanly and convincingly, everyone deserves the credit, and when it's not like that, then it's my fault. It's a burden I bear, unlike some others."
