Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Zoran Milanovic said on Friday that the 1.9% increase of GDP in the final quarter of 2015 was the result of the work of his government over the previous four years.
"These facts and figures speak of our work over the last four years and the GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2015 proves it," Milanovic wrote on his Facebook page. "We never whined and we never gave up, and we left a better Croatia to this government. These are the results of our work over four years, which we didn't waste. We are ready at any time to assume responsibility for the country because what we have in Croatia today is bad and that is evident from day to day."
The Croatian economy grew by 1.9% in the final quarter of 2015 compared with the same period of 2014, while in the entire year 2015 GDP grew by 1.6% in real terms compared with 2014. It was the first year of growth after six years of downturn.
