Karamarko, Yee talk LNG terminal on Krk

Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Karamarko and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Hoyt Yee confirmed on Tuesday that the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the northern Adriatic island of Krk was of a strategic interest for Croatia-U.S. cooperation, the Croatian government said in a statement, adding that Croatia was determined to increase effort to realise the project.

During the talks, Karamarko and Yee confirmed that both Croatia and the United States wanted to step up cooperation on all fronts, notably in the economy and science, the statement said.

"Both sides concluded that the LNG terminal on Krk is of a strategic interest for Croatia-U.S. economic cooperation," the statement read.
