Juncker to receive HDZ chief Plenkovic Thursday

European Commission chief Jean Claude Juncker will hold talks in Brussels next Thursday with Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Andrej Plenkovic, the European Commission announced on Friday.

Announcing Juncker's schedule for next week, spokesman for the Commission Alexander Winterstein said the EC chief will receive a member of the European Parliament and HDZ president Plenkovic on Thursday evening.

Plenkovic is expected to be named prime minister designate in the near future.

Winterstein said details about the meeting and topics to be discussed were not yet known, but added that Juncker wanted to be acquainted with the current state of affairs in Croatia.
