Issuance of building permits decreases by 4% in 2014 y-o-y

During 2015, a total of 6,328 construction licenses were issued in Croatia, down by 4% or 261 licences compared to 2014, the Croatian Office for National Statistics (DZS) has reported.

According to the DZS, 5,133 construction licences were issued for new residential buildings, and 1,509 for buildings for other purposes.

Broken down by type of buildings, 68.3% or 4,324 permits were awarded for new work, and 31.7% or 2,004 for repair and maintenance.

Based on the permits issued, last year 6,950 houses were supposed to be built, 10.2% down compared to 2014.

The total value of all work was estimated at HRK 20.86 billion, up 3.2% year on year.
