The INA oil company has chosen the Deloitte consulting firm to identify and analyse options for sustainable business for its Sisak refinery, and the project will be carried out in cooperation with the company's experts and in consultation with the trade unions, INA said in a statement on Thursday.
The external local consultant has been chosen to ensure objective and professional support during the evaluation of strategic options as an alternative to oil refining at Sisak. The objective is to establish the most effective concept of new alternative business models taking into account the market circumstances and future trends, according to the statement.
All relevant investment options will be considered and evaluated according to several criteria, including the needs of local communities, job preservation, cost-effectiveness of the existing plant, the impact on the environment, alignment with the company's strategic goals, and financial indicators, INA said.
"Aware of the challenges faced by INA's refining business in recent years despite the great efforts at optimising production, there is a clear need and responsibility on the part of the company's management to make a strategic decision in the near future on future operations at Sisak," the statement said.
According to unofficial information, the analysis is expected to be completed by the end of March.
