HSS leader says election best solution to current crisis

Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) president Kreso Beljak said on Thursday an early parliamentary election was the best way to solve the current political imbroglio and that the HSS would run independently, but stressed that before that, one should wait to see if a person capable of being prime minister would appear, which he said would have to be Superman.

Speaking to Hina, Beljak said the current political situation led nowhere and that going to the polls was the best option.

Asked if the HSS would sign the Social Democratic Party's initiative to dissolve parliament, he said it would not. "We won't support other parties' initiatives, notably the SDP."
