A-HSP told to remove tent from Srb

A tent set up by the Autochthonous Croatian Party of Rights (A-HSP) next to an anti-Fascist monument in the village of Srb, must be removed until 7 am Sunday, the spokesman for the Zadar Police district, Elis Zodan, told Hina on Saturday.

The spokesman explained that the tent must be dismantled since the local authorities in the municipality of Gracac did not allow that non-parliamentary political party to use the said public space.

Residents in the Serb-populated village of Srb recently sent an open letter warning that they feel intimidated due to the tent set up by the A-HSP  with the aim of preventing the marking of Anti-Fascist Uprising Day (July 27).

The open letter reads that the purpose of setting up the tent is to discipline the Serb people and other other residents of Srb.

Srb is a village in the Dalmatian hinterland near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The A-HSP leader Drazen Keleminac has admitted that he and his followers had set up the tent to prevent the gathering on 27 July,  which is held in tribute to an uprising of locals against the Nazi-style Independent State of Croatia on 27 July 1941 in Srb. He accused the police and state authorities of currying the favour with Croatian Serb leaders, including Milorad Pupovac.
