HRK 380 mln grants for water supply infrastructure

Following a call for applications for HRK 380 million in grants from a EU cohesion fund for water supply projects, a total of 119 project proposals have been submitted, of which 49 have been selected and 44 are to be financed, the Agriculture Ministry reported on Thursday.

The maximum amount of HRK 380 million of which HRK 230 million are earmarked for water management systems and HRK 150 million are earmarked for public water supplies. The remaining minimum amounts or 15% is to be financed from national funds, the ministry said.

These will be the final projects to be financed from the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme for the period 2007 - 2013.

New projects will be financed with funds from the Operational Programme "Competitiveness and Cohesion" for the period 2014- 2020 with 1.05 billion euro to be earmarked for the water infrastructure sector, the ministry said.
