The Croatian People's Party (HNS), a junior partner in the current SDP-led four-member ruling coalition, on Sunday held a convention to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the party's establishment, and on that occasion the party leader Vesna Pusic described the HNS as a guarantee for the fight against extremisms and for making sure that Croatia "will be a stable, safe and forward-looking country".
Pusic said that "Croatia is currently growing" thanks to efforts made by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and other members in the ruling coalition.
She said that this coalition had strength to pull the country out of provincialism and chauvinism.
Some 1,000 party members and guests gathered for today's ceremony in Zagreb.
