Croatian People's Party (NS) leader Ivan Vrdoljak said on Saturday that the ideology of this party, a junior partner in the People's Coalition, was never the division between (WW2) Partizans and Ustasha but that its ideology was the results of those in power.
"The (SDP-led) People's Party has launched its (election) campaign in Varazdin County in which voters show that they prefer the ideology of results as the governing ideology," Vrdoljak said in the village of Zelendvor near Varazdin.
He added that his wish was to make sure that after the 11 September parliamentary election, the rest of Croatia may have the same opportunities as its northern region.
"Here (in the north of Croatia) much has been done. Employment rates are much higher than anywhere else. Some areas have higher employment than the European average. Our priority is now to work on making salaries higher," the HNS chief said.
He made promises that if they won the election, the HNS and its partners would facilitate an increase in salaries through tax reforms in 2017, and positive economic results in the remainder of their term would lead to higher incomes.
Ivanec Mayor Milorad Batinic of the HNS said that he would put forward to the parliament a motion of amendments to the regional development legislation and that he would advocate differentiation in degrees of development.
