HNiP fully supports Kovacic's nomination

Sinisa Kovacic, who accepted his nomination for the acting director-general of the Croatian national broadcaster (HRT), decided to step down as the president of the association called "Croatian Journalists and Publicists (HNiP)".

HNiP stated on Thursday evening that it fully supported Kovacic's nomination describing his as "a competent and capable man" with a successful 20-year long career in journalism.

The association also praises Kovacic for "his sincere enthusiasm to help improve a state of affairs in the media in Croatia".

With seven votes in favour and three abstentions, the parliamentary Committee on Information, Computerisation and the Media on Thursday proposed that the parliament relieve Goran Radman as director-general of the HRT public broadcasting service. The committee seems to be in favour of Kovacic as his successor.
