HDZ proposes Finance Minister Zdravko Maric as new prime minister-designate

The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Presidency decided on Friday afternoon to propose incumbent Finance Minister Zdravko Maric as the new prime minister-designate in a government reshuffle. 

The HDZ said in a press release that its presidency had conducted a conference call and decided that Maric would be the new prime minister-designate to form a government on behalf of the HDZ.

The HDZ leadership also appointed Domagoj Maroevic as the party's new political secretary.

Incumbent Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miro Kovac was re-appointed as the party's secretary for international relations.
