HDZ presidency to talk ministers Monday

The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) on Sunday held intra-party consultations and party chief Tomislav Karamarko announced a session of the HDZ presidency for Monday, saying the session will focus on which ministries would be taken over by ministers nominated by the Bridge reformist party and which by those from the Patriotic Coalition, adding that Prime Minister designate Tihomir Oreskovic would have veto power.

"We will start discussing tomorrow which ministries will be under the control of Bridge and which under the control of the Patriotic Coalition. At the same time we will propose to prime minister designate concrete individuals for concrete ministries. It is fair to give him time to talk to candidates and make an independent decision, without any pressure," Karamarko said on his Facebook account.

He said the situation in the country demanded the appointment of the best and most qualified people.

Karamarko also said that negotiations with Bridge were proceeding as planned and that they would be wrapped up within the set deadline.
