Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) MP Ivan Suker on Tuesday said that new executives in the country's motorway operator (HAC) and road authority (HC) were not being appointed but "temporarily posted."
"These are not appointments but temporary posts to manage companies where the term of management and supervisory boards has expired. Practically neither the government nor the minister have any management mechanism," Suker said during a break in the session of parliament.
Suker thus responded to claims by Social Democratic Party (SDP) MPs who had accused the HDZ of launching a procedure, without a prior government decision and behind the back of its coalition partners, to appoint management boards in some state-owned companies.
Suker underscored that when the previous coalition government came to power, it conducted political replacements and appointments.
